I’m revealing my top 7 online resources for high-quality furniture and home decor. These are the secrets that interior designers do not want to give away (and I am NOT making money from these businesses!). I am simply staying aligned with my core values as an interior designer. Transparency is key – I want you to feel confident that you are making the right purchasing decisions for your home.
As a small interior design firm in the Sonoma Valley, I try my best to support other small businesses (quickly closes door to family room so you can’t see my sectional from Costco . . . ). Like I said, I try. It’s not always feasible to prioritize quality over price. But when I can, I recommend furnishings and decor to my interior design clients that are made by actual designers and skilled craftspeople, rather than mass-produced products from an overseas factory. Why?

Maggie Cruz is a Miami-based designer with her own line of critically acclaimed furniture & decor inspired by classic Cuban architecture, her nostalgic 80s Miami upbringing, and a love for “Old Florida” sophistication. I love her use of cane which is super trendy at the moment! Lots of bright and fun pieces to choose from. Many of my Marin interior design projects feature products from Maggie Cruz Home – Marin is a mecca for Beachy Modern interior design.
Hedge House
A celebrity favorite, Hedge House maintains an unmatched standard of quality and consistency. All of their hardwood furniture is made from four different wood species, all sustainably sourced from and built in the Midwest: walnut, white oak, cherry and maple. They choose lumber suppliers that are committed to protecting the environment and show a commitment to sustainable forestry practices. Hot interior designer tip: I recommend them for their custom upholstery options – it’s not everywhere you can find 60+ designer-quality fabrics to choose from. They’re also great if you want to achieve the Coastal Modern interior design style.
Allied Maker
The only all-lighting brand on my list (although there are lots more out there that I love!), Allied Maker is based on Long Island and creates high quality, sophisticated, yet simple lighting solutions. They are fueled by an “obsession” with natural materials such as brass, glass, and hardwoods, which is the perfect complement to Wine Country interior design. They truly make high quality, one-of-a-kind lighting pieces that will brighten and add refined personality to any space.
Hollywood at Home
Hollywood at Home features designer Peter Dunham’s own collection of hand-crafted seating, tables, and case goods, decor. Vintage, made-to-order pieces or in-stock Peter Dunham Home collection of indoor/outdoor furniture is worth a look (almost all of my interior design projects include at least 1 item from Hollywood at Home!).
